Again the 1st XI faced an opposition that had inflicted a defeat earlier in the season as they entertained Grimsby at London Road. Asked to bat, the openers Patel and Harbron got the team off to a solid start, posting 46 for the 1st wicket as Patel was dismissed. This soon turned into 60/3 as Hibberd and Shorthouse were back in the hutch. Mansfield joined Conor at the crease looking to rebuild and a partnership of 53 followed. Drew and Conor then put on 41 for the 5th wicket as Drew fell for 34, followed by Conor for 68, reaching his maiden ECB half century in the process. Sleaford were now struggling at 167/6 that soon turned into 179/9. The last pair of Tite and Peck managed to eke out some very valuable 10th wicket runs, taking the total to 211. Tite was last man out for 24 at the start of the 47th over. Drew and Scott took the new ball and made early inroads and alongside Hall and K Harbron, left Grimsby reeling at 59/5. A mini recovery saw them to 93/6, soon followed with a 7th success and from there it was really one-way traffic. Although Grimsby still showed some positive intent, it was only a matter of time before Sleaford completed the task with Cam Hall ending the innings in the 39th over, with Grimsby comfortably short at 151 all out. Hall finishing with 3/29, Drew claiming a brace and a wicket apiece for Tite, Kieran, Shorthouse and Mansfield who also effected a run out in his first class fielding display.

The 2nd XI travelled to Newborough. Opting to bowl first, Sleaford soon had some success with Collings, Goddard and Puri all claiming a wicket. However, the joy was short lived as Newborough went from 51/3 to 181/4 as Collings was put to the sword conceding 92 from his 9 overs. Goddard and Puri, however, were especially miserly only going for 10 and 16 in their respective 9 over spells. Restricting Newborough to 216/6 from their 45 overs seemed about par against a strong opposition. Collings and Glendinning opened up and started positively putting on 37 for the 1st wicket, but a characteristic collapse saw Sleaford reduced in quick time to 44/4. Roberts joined Glendinning in the middle to take the innings to 122/5 before Ben was dismissed for 31. Sumit and Charlie added 30 for the 7th wicket, but as Puri was out all hope of victory faded, as Sleaford were dismissed for 160, Roberts left undefeated on 50.

The men’s Sunday teams were both in action, but were struggling for availability. The 1st XI were at Nettleham. It appears none of the bowlers really got a stranglehold over the Nettleham batters. Wickets were shared, but they were unable to remove opener Govender, who carried his bat for 115 in a total of 214/7 from the allotted 40 overs. With the bat, skipper Harbron was the pick with 60 but failed to receive much support elsewhere, as they were dismissed for 167 in the 34th over, tumbling to a 47 run defeat, all but ending their hopes of defending the title.
The 2nd XI hosted old Lincolnians at Fulbeck CC. Batting first, the team could only manage a below par 171/4 with out of retirement Chairman, Gavin Hutson, making 47 not out. Old Lincs knocked this off for the loss of 5 wickets in the 31st over.
The Women’s 1st XI were also performing at home against Hartsholme. The opposition, who have already conceded several games this season, were offered a number of players from Sleaford to ensure a fixture was completed. A fine gesture and a good opportunity for players of both clubs to get more exposure to hard ball cricket. Sleaford batted first and amassed 261/2 in their 35 overs, assisted by a massive 76 extras. Both Rebecca Hudson (37) and Libby Naylor (51) retired not out, Evie Jarvis made 45 (dismissed by her mother!) with Holly Vaughan (31) and Chloe Mulhall (21) remaining not out. Hartsholme only had 8 batters and were never likely to threaten this large total and were content to occupy the crease for long periods. Ultimately, they were dismissed for 81 (7 wickets down) with Millie Bell taking 3, 2 for Millie Townend and 1 each for Emma Farmer and Holly Vaughan as Sleaford ran out winners by 180 runs.
